In Matthew 9:37 Jesus tells His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.” Jesus could have said the same thing this very day. There are so many opportunities for sharing the Gospel in the world today! People are in desperate spiritual need and are hungry for hope; hope that only Jesus can provide. The harvest is indeed plentiful, but more workers are desperately needed to reap it. And, this can only happen with your help and by the grace of God.
Earlier this year I had the privilege of visiting our Bible school in Indonesia – a country with more Muslims than any other in the world – where a new batch of 100 national leaders and pastors are being trained to serve and proclaim the love of Christ. These faithful men and women are willing to face a hostile environment and persecution to make God known throughout Indonesia. And when they do, God uses them to produce plentiful fruit.
While in Indonesia, I also had the opportunity to visit a pastor serving in a young church located in a town that is made up almost entirely of Muslims. At the top of the hill, where this church is located, also sits a large mosque. This dear man of God, with the help of AMG financial partners, has also started a child and youth development center in town, which is housed in his church. Many of the children have come to the center from Muslim families, and this pastor has been faithfully sowing the seeds of the Gospel in their lives. The results have been amazing. In just one year, eight children have come to faith and have been baptized to identify as followers of Christ!
Over the last ten years we have seen hundreds of churches planted in Indonesia; and it doesn’t stop there. New churches have also been planted in Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, the Philippines, and other countries. The world is hungry for the truth of Scripture and when we are able to train and equip these national leaders and pastors to serve God, He uses them to grow His church and advance His kingdom. As a result, entire communities are being transformed by the power of the Gospel. And, you play an important role in that transformation.
The opportunities around the world, among Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus and others, are exceptional. But more workers are needed and must be properly trained and generously supported, so they can be fruitful in their ministries. Will you partner with us to equip these nationals who are so eager to serve the Lord? Together, we can help reap more of the harvest that God is giving us – we need only be faithful.
