Uppamaka Rani
Uppamaka is a sweet girl who loves to learn mathematics. Her favorite food is lemon rice. Unfortunately, Uppamaka’s father left the family when she was just a baby and her mother had to take all the responsibility of raising her daughter by working as a teacher’s aide in a school. Uppamaka’s mother’s salary is not nearly enough to cover for the family’s basic needs of food, transportation and education. They live in precarious conditions in a poor neighborhood. Uppamaka is not able to attend school sometimes because her mother cannot afford all the school fees.
