Adilson is a quiet boy who enjoys playing soccer with his friends. He dreams of becoming a police officer when he grows up! Adilson lives with his parents and two siblings in a small rural home in Peru. His family is very poor, and they lack basic facilities in their home such as water and electricity. Adilson’s only source of food is his father’s crop that he grows as a farmer. Because of this, Adilson has shown signs of malnutrition. With your help, Adilson’s deepest physical, spiritual, intellectual, social, and emotional needs can be met at Yungar. Thank you for being a part of Adilson’s life and for giving him daily access to the life-changing power of the Word of God!

Yungar Child Development Center

The Yungar Child Development Center is a refuge for poor children in the community. The center partners with a local church and uses its facilities to educate children’s parents on physical and spiritual matters.  At the center, children eat delicious meals to help them stay healthy. School supplies, clothing an educational fees are provided so that children can receive a quality education. Every week, the center staff teach the Word of God in devotion times, Bible studies, and prayer meetings.

Peru is a culturally diverse country in South America. The majority of the population profess to be Christian, with the majority being Roman Catholic. Terrorism and social violence can be common in certain areas. Generally speaking, there is a lack of stable jobs and it is often difficult to find consistent work. Many fathers abandon their families, leaving them in challenging circumstances. Alcoholism, drug use, and gang violence are also prevalent in many communities.
