Airin is a quiet young girl in Indonesia. She enjoys drawing and running. Airin lives with her three siblings, her mother, and her grandmother. Airin’s father has never been in her life, so her mother has to work odd jobs to support her children. Unfortunately, her inconsistent income cannot always provide for the basic needs of the family, including food. Airin and her family often rely on the generosity of neighbors to provide their meals. Will you come alongside Airin and help meet her deepest needs? By sponsoring Airin, you give her the opportunity to attend Pakis, a child development center that offers food, medical care, education, and biblical teaching. Together we can provide Airin with life-changing physical, spiritual, emotional, intellectual, and social care.
Pakis Child Development Center
The Pakis Child Development Center partners with a local church to preach the Gospel to young people and make disciples. At the center, nutritious meals are provided for all of the children. The children also receive help with school tuition, school supplies and uniforms. Medical care is given to those in need. Additionally, the children are encouraged to attend Sunday School each week and are taught from the Bible at least twice a week.
Indonesia is a predominately Muslim country in Southeast Asia. Many work as farmers, but due to the uncertain climate it’s difficult for them to maintain their crops. Other common occupations include construction workers, freelancers, and house cleaners. Many of the families are poor and do not have the funds to pay for medical treatment. Multiple families have to live together in the same house a lot of the time. Many parents lack a formal education and get married young. Domestic violence is also prominent and husbands are prone to leave their families.
