Alvin’s favorite subject in school is Indonesian lessons, and he wants to be a teacher when he grows up. He lives in a mountain village far from the city and must travel quite a distance to attend school. Alvin’s father is a low-income farmer and has struggled to make ends meet during the pandemic. Alvin is looking for a sponsor who will help him and his family afford the Biblical training, education, and nutritious food offered through AMG. Will you partner with us?
Glapansari Child Development Center
The Glapansari Child Development Center is giving children and their families hope for the future. The children who attend the center are cooked meals, tutored, and helped with homework. They are encouraged to attend Sunday School and participate in worship. The center also provides recreational activities for the children such as sports and games. In addition, the staff lead Bible studies multiple times a week, where children learn about the teachings of Jesus.
Indonesia is a predominately Muslim country in Southeast Asia. Many work as farmers, but due to the uncertain climate it’s difficult for them to maintain their crops. Other common occupations include construction workers, freelancers, and house cleaners. Many of the families are poor and do not have the funds to pay for medical treatment. Multiple families have to live together in the same house a lot of the time. Many parents lack a formal education and get married young. Domestic violence is also prominent and husbands are prone to leave their families.
