Brandon is a boy who dreams to be a firefighter when he grows up. He lives with both his parents and 2 siblings. Brandon walks to school 10 minutes each way every day. His favorite subject is history. He and his family live near the town’s cemetery. It is a very poor and dangerous area with gangs in the vicinity. His house is made out of tin roof and walls and a dirt floor. Brandon’s father works in construction and his mom works as a maid. Their salaries are not enough to cover the needs of the family. He is looking for a sponsor who will help him and his parents afford the bible training, education and nutritious food AMG provides.

Guatemala is the most populated country in Central America. The majority religion is Christianity and is primarily Roman Catholic. Families in Guatemala suffer from many difficult circumstances such as drug use, alcoholism, physical violence, broken homes, and malnourishment. Often children are forced to begin working at an early age. Many families are extremely poor, live in small dilapidated homes and don’t make enough to provide for their physical needs.
