Chelluri is a little boy that lives in India. His father died in an accident so his mother works as a helper in a college where she earns a low income. Chelluri and his family belong to a Hindu community where they live in a small house in a village. His mother could not afford to pay the school fee, buy books, and a uniform or provide for household amenities due to economic hardship. Chelluri’s mother has a desire to give him a good education in an English school. Through your support, Chelluri will be able to receive a good education as well as hear about the love of Christ through AMG’s residential school.

Visakhapatnam Child Development Center

The Visakhapatnam Child Development Center shines the light of the Gospel in communities impacted by other religions. Twice a day children hear from God?s Word and have times of prayer. In addition, the staff provides children with nutritious meals, school uniforms and supplies, educational assistance, and medical treatment. Children are encouraged to attend Sunday School where they are taught the truth of Christianity. Once a week students are also taught Bible lessons at the center.

India is a large country in South Asia. The majority of the population follows Hinduism and Islam, but there are many Christians as well. Many residents are very poor and suffer from diseases such as HIV/AIDS and leprosy. Alcoholism is prevalent and children often come from broken families due to divorce. India sometimes experiences droughts and intense heat making the need for clean water very important. The caste system was technically abolished, but its remnants still affect many in society today.
