Chilla is a precious young girl who loves science. Unfortunately, her father passed away from cancer a couple of years ago and her and her mother had to go to live with her grandparents because they couldn’t afford to live on their own. They live in a rented house in a very poor neighborhood. Chillas mother works as a daily wage laborer and earns very little money; therefore, she cannot afford to cover the basic needs of the family such as food and education. She is looking for a sponsor who will help her and her parents afford the bible training, education and nutritious food that AMG provides.
Visakhapatnam Child Development Center
The Visakhapatnam Child Development Center shines the light of the Gospel in communities impacted by other religions. Twice a day children hear from God?s Word and have times of prayer. In addition, the staff provides children with nutritious meals, school uniforms and supplies, educational assistance, and medical treatment. Children are encouraged to attend Sunday School where they are taught the truth of Christianity. Once a week students are also taught Bible lessons at the center.
India is a large country in South Asia. The majority of the population follows Hinduism and Islam, but there are many Christians as well. Many residents are very poor and suffer from diseases such as HIV/AIDS and leprosy. Alcoholism is prevalent and children often come from broken families due to divorce. India sometimes experiences droughts and intense heat making the need for clean water very important. The caste system was technically abolished, but its remnants still affect many in society today.
