Dante is a little boy in kindergarten. He lives with his parents in a poor neighborhood of Guatemala City. Dante’s father works as a salesman in a spare parts company, and his mother is a housewife. They are very appreciative of the opportunities Dante has to receive nutritious meals, educational assistance, and Bible teaching while attending the childcare center. Thank you!

Verbena Childcare Center
The Verbena Child Development Center is AMG Guatemala’s largest center reaching children for Christ. Staff cook meals each day and provide medical and dental services when necessary. School supplies and uniforms are given to enable children to receive an education. Children receive counseling and attend a tutoring program when needing help with schoolwork. Lastly, children learn about God’s Word through devotions and Bible classes led by the staff each week.
Guatemala is the most populated country in Central America. The majority religion is Christianity and is primarily Roman Catholic. Families in Guatemala suffer from many difficult circumstances such as drug use, alcoholism, physical violence, broken homes, and malnourishment. Often children are forced to begin working at an early age. Many families are extremely poor, live in small dilapidated homes and don’t make enough to provide for their physical needs.
