Diego is a little boy in kindergarten. He lives with his mother, who works as a nurse, and his grandfather. Diego’s father left the family some time ago and does not contribute to their support. Diego’s mother works at a hospital in the capital city and has to have help to look after Diego while she is gone. Diego enjoys art class at school, and he likes to play with his friends. He says that he would like to become a fireman when he grows up. Your sponsorship will provide nutritional, educational, and spiritual support for Diego in the safe and loving environment of the child development center. Thank you!

The Filadelfia Child Development Center is an evangelical school that provides hope for children in the community. The center is part of the Centro American Evangelical Church. Everyday children receive a quality Christian education and nutritious meals. Throughout the week, children also hear solid Bible teaching and devotions led by the staff. The church also hosts events such as multiple holiday celebrations throughout the year in order to reach families for Christ.
Guatemala is the most populated country in Central America. The majority religion is Christianity and is primarily Roman Catholic. Families in Guatemala suffer from many difficult circumstances such as drug use, alcoholism, physical violence, broken homes, and malnourishment. Often children are forced to begin working at an early age. Many families are extremely poor, live in small dilapidated homes and don’t make enough to provide for their physical needs.
