Emilio is a little boy living with his mother and little sister. In 2020, his father died suddenly from a heart attack. Emilio was the only one home with it happened. Because of COVID-19 restrictions, they were not able to have a proper funeral, and Emilio and his family weren’t permitted to even visit his graveside. Before his father passed away, his parents had taken out a loan to start a small coffee shop and catering business. Without his support, his mom has to sell food from their home three days a week to make ends meet, and repay the loan for the restaurant they never had. With the financial support of a sponsor, Emilio will be able to attend school and the local AMG child development center. There he will be shown the love of our Eternal Father. Thank you for your support of Emilio! Emilio has a younger sister in the AMG program named Ximena.
Las Vistas Child Development Center
The Las Vistas Child Development Center comes alongside families to help meet the needs of local children. Children are taught in school five days a week. Cooks at the center provide the children with delicious meals and they have access to safe drinking water. Children learn life skills at the center and receive counseling when needed. Additionally, the staff leads devotions each day and conducts Bible classes twice a week.
Guatemala is the most populated country in Central America. The majority religion is Christianity and is primarily Roman Catholic. Families in Guatemala suffer from many difficult circumstances such as drug use, alcoholism, physical violence, broken homes, and malnourishment. Often children are forced to begin working at an early age. Many families are extremely poor, live in small dilapidated homes and don’t make enough to provide for their physical needs.
