Fuengfar is a sweet girl who dreams of going to college and becoming a businesswoman one day. She lives with her parents and two siblings among the Hmong people. The area where they live is overrun with drugs and is a very difficult place to live. Fuengfar?s parents both work the fields to try and earn a living, but they are not able to make enough money to support Fuengfar?s family. Her parents fight often, and her father is prone to alcoholism. Fuengfar has thought of running away many times to escape the difficulties she faces every day. She dreams of going to college and finding a job that will allow her to provide for a family one day. Your sponsorship of Fuengfar would mean so much to her and allow her to be surrounded by AMG National Leaders who will love her and point her to Jesus.
The Museekee Hostel is a refuge for children with difficult family circumstances. The hostel provides a roof over their heads along with running water and electricity. Three nutritious meals are served daily to the children. They also receive medical attention when needed. The hostel partners with a local church where the children are invited to participate. A member of the staff shares a lesson from the Bible every day, and children are encouraged to share the Gospel with their fellow villagers as well.
Thailand is a predominantly Buddhist country, and many people also believe in the spiritual realm. Children from poor families go to state-run schools where teaching is sub-standard. Their parents normally have little education and cannot be relied upon to help them. School children seldom reach the ninth grade and most end up working in family farms. Since the people have very low or no education, they lack basic knowledge of life skills like personal hygiene, household management, family planning and balancing budgets.
