Church planters in Indonesia like Heri develop and establish fellowships of believers while facing all the challenges associated with frequent natural disasters, rugged terrain, and a difficult religious environment. Heri grew up in a family that practiced Chinese tribal religions. However, he grew in the knowledge of Jesus from a young age in school and accepted Him as Savior. He went on to study in seminary and now plants churches and engages in discipleship with Islamic and Christian people in Indonesia. Heri says, “Serving God is an honor and responsibility for me. Because of that, I work joyfully!” Thank you for your prayers and contribution to Heri’s ministry!

Indonesia is a predominately Muslim country in Southeast Asia. Many work as farmers, but due to the uncertain climate it’s difficult for them to maintain their crops. Other common occupations include construction workers, freelancers, and house cleaners. Many of the families are poor and do not have the funds to pay for medical treatment. Multiple families have to live together in the same house a lot of the time. Many parents lack a formal education and get married young. Domestic violence is also prominent and husbands are prone to leave their families.
