Melisa is a cheerful and lively young girl. Her nickname is Ayu. She lives with her family on the south east side of Java Island. Her family is Muslim. Melisa’s parents work as farm laborers, but their meager income is not enough to meet the needs. They live in a small house made of wood, roof tile, and dirt floor. Their drinking water comes from the neighbor’s well. For washing clothes and bathing, they go to the river. Your sponsorship will provide this young girl with nutritious food and an education. She will learn of Christ’s love for her at the childcare center and how to live for him everyday. May the Lord bless you for your kindness.

Sinar Kasih Child Development Center

The Sinar Kasih Child Development Center is reaching children and their families with the Gospel. The young people who attend the center are encouraged to attend Sunday School where they are involved with music, singing and learning about God. The staff provide tutoring as needed and teach the children English to help them succeed in the future. The children are also given uniforms and supplies to attend school. Children under the center?s care eat nutritious meals to maintain good health and are taught the Bible twice a week.

Indonesia is a predominately Muslim country in Southeast Asia. Many work as farmers, but due to the uncertain climate it’s difficult for them to maintain their crops. Other common occupations include construction workers, freelancers, and house cleaners. Many of the families are poor and do not have the funds to pay for medical treatment. Multiple families have to live together in the same house a lot of the time. Many parents lack a formal education and get married young. Domestic violence is also prominent and husbands are prone to leave their families.
