Thiwath lives with his poor Buddhist family in Thailand. His parents are farmers who grow rice and corn to eat and sell. Living on the income that farming provides has been very difficult for the family of late with all of the weather and drought issues in Thailand. Thiwath is a healthy boy who struggles with his education. He has some real challenges with reading, so he could use your help. By sponsoring Thiwath, you would enable him to attend AMG’s child and youth development center and receive the caring help he needs to overcome his educational difficulties. The nutritious food and sound Bible training he would also receive at the center could help him grow into a strong young man who could bring truth to his Buddhist family. Would you consider sponsoring Thiwath and helping him and his family?
Thailand is a predominantly Buddhist country, and many people also believe in the spiritual realm. Children from poor families go to state-run schools where teaching is sub-standard. Their parents normally have little education and cannot be relied upon to help them. School children seldom reach the ninth grade and most end up working in family farms. Since the people have very low or no education, they lack basic knowledge of life skills like personal hygiene, household management, family planning and balancing budgets.
