Wilmer is a sweet young boy. He is growing up in a small village in a rural area of Guatemala, about three hours from the capital city. Wilmer lives with his parents and baby brother in a house that has block walls, a tin roof, and a cement floor. They have water and electricity, and cook their meals over a fire. Wilmer’s favorite subject is math. He says that he would like to become a teacher when he grows up. He likes to play soccer. Wilmer’s mother stays home to care for the children and his father works in a sausage factory in the capital. He is only home on the weekends. By partnering with AMG through sponsorship, you can help provide Wilmer with food, education, medical care, and teaching from the Word of God!

Guatemala is the most populated country in Central America. The majority religion is Christianity and is primarily Roman Catholic. Families in Guatemala suffer from many difficult circumstances such as drug use, alcoholism, physical violence, broken homes, and malnourishment. Often children are forced to begin working at an early age. Many families are extremely poor, live in small dilapidated homes and don’t make enough to provide for their physical needs.
