Hebron Hostel

The Hebron Hostel consists of three centers in the Chittagong Hills of Bangladesh. The state religion is Islam, making it a difficult place to share the Gospel publicly. It is also one of the poorest nations in the world, and is often devastated by natural disasters. The people make a living by growing crops, but this is becoming harder because available land is limited. Education is critical because literacy is only at 24% nationwide. The Hebron Hostel serves local tribes who have no means of education in their villages. All the children at the hostel attend weekly AWANA meetings, take part in gardening projects, learn to read in their native tongue, and learn about Jesus. Those who go through the program make a significant impact in the community, with some of the first graduates of the hostel serving as medics and evangelists. The main goal of the project is to build up a new generation of godly leaders who can read, understand, and apply God’s Word.
