Bugongi Child Development Center

The Bugongi Child Development Center is located in the Sheema District of Uganda. The children from this area come from peasant families and towns where there is no electricity or running water. Many live in huts made of mud with roofs made of straw. The typical family may own a small piece of land with a few chickens and goats. Many children have been orphaned because of the AIDS epidemic in Uganda. The Bugongi Childcare Center was founded by Reuben and Florence Musiime in 1996. Children attend the center every Saturday to hear Bible stories, memorize Scripture, eat nutritious meals, and play games. The center is open for families as a place of encouragement from Monday through Friday. AMG is dedicated to feeding these hungry children and helping them find a new way of life. Children are getting the care and attention they need and are learning about God’s love for them.
