Las Vistas Child Development Center

The Las Vistas Child Development Center in Nuevo Amanacer (meaning New Beginning) is located on the outskirts of Guatemala City. There is extremely high unemployment in this area, creating family and gang violence. Those who can find a job typically work in factories or have a small business. 60% of families are broken, leaving many children to fend for themselves. Las Vistas started as a result of Hurricane Mitch in 1998, which left hundreds of homes destroyed in the urban slums of the city. AMG constructed hundreds of homes for these stricken families and donated the titles to them, after several years of faithful small payments. After seeing the need for quality education in this area, AMG built the Las Vistas Childcare Center and school to continue ministering to this area. Monday through Friday, from 8 a. m. to 4 p.m., children attend the center for school. They receive a morning snack and lunch every day. Devotions are held every day with further Bible Study on Monday and Tuesday. It is a wonderful privilege to rescue these children and give them a new beginning in Christ.
