Tarchilake Child Development Center

The Tarchilake Child Development Center is located in northeastern Myanmar. Tarchilake is a village with a population of over 20,000 people and growing. Workers in this area earn about $10 a month through occupations such as farming, small business, and construction. Because of the lack of education and the absence of job opportunities, 80% of men in the culture are addicted to opium, and many of the young women are sold into prostitution by their parents for financial gain. God burdened the heart of Daw Sein Sein to reach out to these children and to step out in faith. She was determined to provide food, shelter, clothing, and basic teaching to the children in the community. The Tarchilake Childcare Center was established, and now children are learning about the love of Christ. Parents are also receptive to the Gospel as they watch the staff at the Tarchilake Childcare Center minister and preach the Gospel to their children.
