We often talk about AMG International being a “Gospel-first global ministry,” and we share stories about going into all the world to tell people about Jesus. Many of the testimonies we hear, like the one below, make us feel incredibly blessed to partner in God’s work with donors like you.
Krittika Kaewsai, or Mam, as she wants to be called, was born to a family of farmers in a small village in northern Thailand. The family of five lived in a small bamboo house, all they could afford with the limited income from the farm. But, by the grace of God, Mam came to AMG’s By Grace school as a sponsored child at the age of 3.
She is grateful for the free education, bus rides to school, hot lunches, and school uniforms and supplies she received as a result of the sponsorship. But, she explains,
“One of the differences from other schools was Bible story time. We were taught about the living God every day. Though I learned about God every day, I did not understand well until I attended primary school. I faithfully attended the Bible class of AMG every Saturday. I walked about 3 km. [just under 2 miles] every Saturday and remember I was so happy to join the class. I eagerly waited for Saturdays! Gradually I learned about the living God and accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior when I was in high school. I told my parents what Jesus Christ had done for me. My parents did not believe, but they did not prevent me from continuing. So I was baptized and followed Jesus Christ.”
“Sometimes I felt discouraged because there was no one who came to Jesus Christ like me. Many people spoke harshly to me about my conversion from Buddhism to Christian. But I do not mind, because His grace is sufficient for me.
My life changed for the better. I now teach at By Grace School. I am very thankful to God for giving me this position. As a teacher I have the opportunity to share the good news of salvation and the love of God to my students. I hope one day these children will come to Christ like me. I am also still praying for my family to become believers in Jesus Christ.”
Mam is especially grateful for her sponsor for making it possible for her to receive an education and, most important, to learn about Jesus Christ.
This is truly a great example of the impact sponsorship can have in the life of a child. There are many other children, not only in Thailand but also in other countries where we work who are still waiting for a sponsor – someone who will give them the opportunity for not only a better future in this world, but a far better future for eternity as a child of God.
If you have been touched by Mam’s story, call us, or visit amgkids.org to begin sponsoring a child. Together we can change that child’s life.
