While Africa may have been known as the “Dark Continent”, it’s not dark anymore. The Holy Spirit is moving across the continent like a wildfire. AMG’s national leaders are tirelessly working to evangelize, disciple, and care for their people’s deepest needs as they follow the example of Christ.
In Zimbabwe our national leaders operate a children’s home in a rural area where they feed more than 120 children in need five days a week. Right now, Zimbabwe is experiencing a severe drought, as well as an economic crisis, and many families are without food. One of the teachers who works with these children reported that the children in the feeding program are going to school and thriving, but unfortunately that is not the story for all of the children in the school. Please pray for these children, and for the Kabwe Children’s Home that they would be able to add more children to the feeding program.
Also, in Zimbabwe, our national leader Dr. Jabulani Mudenda is working to carry out his vision of making available 1,000 bicycles to 1,000 pastors so they can plant 1,000 churches by 2020. Since this program started more than 500 bicycles have been provided to local pastors. Dr. Mudenda has also been hosting multiple training conferences for these pastors who otherwise would have no theological training.
In Liberia, the school programs led by our national leaders are reaching over 30,000 children with the gospel. We are continuing to move into new communities, and since the start of this ministry more than 25,000 children have come to know Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior.
Dr. Ohene Kumi, one of national leaders based in Ghana, leads AMG’s Public School Discipleship Program in Ghana, Togo, and Nigeria. Through this effort, students are taught the gospel and learn how to study Scripture. But the program isn’t just for students, it has an impact on their families and communities as well. One parent writes, “My daughter brought the Bible booklet home from school and I happened to pick it up and read it. It’s amazing! Every page of the booklet helped me understand more about God and what He has done for all mankind. My little girl came home the other day with a beautiful certificate, and I can’t wait to read the next booklet she receives. Thank you for doing such a fantastic job with the children at the schools.”
Please continue praying for our national leaders in as they work to meet people’s deepest needs, spiritual and physical, in Jesus’ name. If you would like to learn more about partnering with AMG’s African ministries, please visit amginternational.org.
