Agnes is a sweet girl who enjoys learning. Her favorite subject is English. She loves to sing and dance in Sunday School and enjoys playing with dolls. She wants to be a nurse when she grows up. Agnes lives with her father, mother and four sisters. Unfortunately, her parents are both unemployed and struggle to cover the family’s basic needs such as food, clothing and shelter. Agnes is not always able to attend school because the family is not able to afford its fees. She longs for a sponsor who will help her and her parents afford the Bible training, education and nutritious food that AMG can provide.
Namugoga Child Development Center
The Namugoga Child Development Center shares the hope of the Gospel to spiritually dark communities. The church that the center partners with shares its facilities so children can attend Sunday School, sing in the choir and participate in the youth group. Children receive educational support, medical care, mentorship, and important life skills training. The center staff evangelize and disciple children in their walks with Christ. Many of the students have their own Bibles, which they are encouraged to read and study.
Uganda is a landlocked country in Africa. The majority of the population is Christian and there are a large number of Muslims. Witchcraft and animism are still believed and practiced in certain areas as well. Poverty is rampant throughout the country as well as a lack of education. Sickness and disease are prevalent and many lack the means to receive medical treatment. Often children suffer from malnutrition. Many struggle with drug use and alcoholism. It’s common for families to be torn apart due to divorce and separation.
