Brittany is a smart and happy girl living with her sister and grandparents in Guatemala. Her parents separated three years ago, and we do not currently know the whereabouts of her father. Her father has a long history of drug addiction, alcoholism and physical abuse. Because of this, Brittany and her sister have suffered emotionally and psychologically. Brittany still has emotional distress due to seeing her father act violently against her mother. Brittany’s mother works as a maid and she visits her children once a month. Brittany’s grandparents are Christians and have tried to give Brittany and her sister love and affection. It is because of this love that Brittany is still described as a happy and loving young girl. By sponsoring Brittany, you could be another person in her life that is loving and encouraging. You could also provide resources that her grandparents cannot. Through your generosity, she will receive nutritious meals, an education, and biblical teaching. Thank you for coming alongside this hurting family.

Oratorio Child Development Center

The Oratorio Child Development Center serves children in the small city of Oratorio in Guatemala. At the center, children attend general education classes in addition to learning life skills. Staff provide the children with nutritious meals each day. Every week teachers share from God’s Word in devotion time in addition to leading Bible classes. Since many children do not attend church, the center also participates in evangelistic events such as summer camp each year.

Guatemala is the most populated country in Central America. The majority religion is Christianity and is primarily Roman Catholic. Families in Guatemala suffer from many difficult circumstances such as drug use, alcoholism, physical violence, broken homes, and malnourishment. Often children are forced to begin working at an early age. Many families are extremely poor, live in small dilapidated homes and don’t make enough to provide for their physical needs.
