Chiluka is a sweet girl who lives in India. She and her family belong to a Hindu community and live in a rented slab house. Chiluka’s father is a helper in an aluminum shop where the monthly earnings are low. Chiluka’s family cannot afford to pay school fees, buy books and a uniform, or provide proper household amenities to their children due to economic hardships. Her parents desire to see Chiluka educated in an English School. By supporting Chiluka, she will receive a good education and also be encouraged to grow in relationship with Jesus Christ.

Visakhapatnam Child Development Center

The Visakhapatnam Child Development Center shines the light of the Gospel in communities impacted by other religions. Twice a day children hear from God?s Word and have times of prayer. In addition, the staff provides children with nutritious meals, school uniforms and supplies, educational assistance, and medical treatment. Children are encouraged to attend Sunday School where they are taught the truth of Christianity. Once a week students are also taught Bible lessons at the center.

India is a large country in South Asia. The majority of the population follows Hinduism and Islam, but there are many Christians as well. Many residents are very poor and suffer from diseases such as HIV/AIDS and leprosy. Alcoholism is prevalent and children often come from broken families due to divorce. India sometimes experiences droughts and intense heat making the need for clean water very important. The caste system was technically abolished, but its remnants still affect many in society today.
