Davis is a kind young boy who enjoys playing with his little brother. He lives with his parents in a small farming village in Guatemala. Because their only source of income is farming, the family is dependent on the crops’ harvest time for sales and food. Davis’ parents work hard to try and provide for their boys, but they have struggled economically, and Davis is at risk for malnourishment. By coming alongside Davis as his sponsor, you can help provide him with a good education, nutritious meals and snacks, medical care, and other material needs. Most importantly, Davis will be taught from the Bible by the loving staff at the Filadelfia Child Development Center. Pray for Davis as he grows physically, mentally, and spiritually!

Filadelfia Child Development Center

The Filadelfia Child Development Center is an evangelical school that provides hope for children in the community. The center is part of the Centro American Evangelical Church. Everyday children receive a quality Christian education and nutritious meals. Throughout the week, children also hear solid Bible teaching and devotions led by the staff. The church also hosts events such as multiple holiday celebrations throughout the year in order to reach families for Christ.

Guatemala is the most populated country in Central America. The majority religion is Christianity and is primarily Roman Catholic. Families in Guatemala suffer from many difficult circumstances such as drug use, alcoholism, physical violence, broken homes, and malnourishment. Often children are forced to begin working at an early age. Many families are extremely poor, live in small dilapidated homes and don’t make enough to provide for their physical needs.
