Pastor Hector Arana has served with AMG for many years in multiple capacities. He is currently the executive director of AMG Philippines. From social work to church planting, his personal experiences in various aspects of the ministry give him rare insight as he oversees the diverse organization with humility and compassion.

The Philippines is a country that consists of over 7,000 islands in Southeast Asia. It has many active volcanoes and its location and torrential rainfall means that several areas are prone to flooding, typhoons and cyclones. The majority of the population is Roman Catholic, but some people are superstitious and still practice animism. Poverty, alcoholism and widespread drug use plagues their communities. This has led to broken families and abandoned children. There are few consistent job opportunities as well, making it difficult for parents to provide for their families.

Meeting the Deepest NeedsGive Clean Water

Because of the severe temperatures and lack of rain, typical water sources in Andhra Pradesh are drying up. As a result, villagers are having to gather whatever dirty water is available in ponds, streams and water tanks. This, however, is causing people to get sick from water borne diseases like diarrhea, typhoid, jaundice, and fevers; and some cases are resulting in death.

We would like to purchase and install 25 additional bore wells this year at a cost of $1,000 each. Would you consider joining us in this effort?
