Guatemala is the most populated country in Central America. The majority religion is Christianity and is primarily Roman Catholic. Families in Guatemala suffer from many difficult circumstances such as drug use, alcoholism, physical violence, broken homes, and malnourishment. Often children are forced to begin working at an early age. Many families are extremely poor, live in small dilapidated homes and don’t make enough to provide for their physical needs.
Jeremy is a sweet young boy. Unfortunately, his father passed away before he was born, which has affected Jeremy emotionally. His mother does not have a permanent job. She sells cosmetics by catalog, which makes her income very irregular. They struggle a lot to cover their daily needs. Some neighbors try to help them by giving Jeremy and his two older siblings, Jonathan and Pamela, used shoes and clothing. They live in their grandmother’s house. Their house is made out of a tin roof and dirt floor and they do not have running water. Jeremy loves to play soccer and his favorite subject at school is art. He is looking for a sponsor who will help him and his parents afford the Bible training, education and nutritious food AMG provides.
