Jessika’s nickname is Cika. She is a cheerful and friendly young girl. She is quick at memorizing songs in Kindergarten or in Sunday School. Jessika is diligent and eager to go to church. Her father is a daily wage laborer. He works very hard to provide for the family, but his income is not enough to meet the needs. They rent a small one-room boarding house with ceramic floor and brick walls. Their rent is almost half of his paycheck, not to mention electricity and water. They have difficult times, but rejoice that God will provide. Thank you for choosing to offer this young girl hope for the future and for touching her life for Christ. At the childcare center, she will receive nutritious food and a good education. She will learn God’s word taught by a loving staff. May the Lord bless you for your kindness.
Pakis Child Development Center
The Pakis Child Development Center partners with a local church to preach the Gospel to young people and make disciples. At the center, nutritious meals are provided for all of the children. The children also receive help with school tuition, school supplies and uniforms. Medical care is given to those in need. Additionally, the children are encouraged to attend Sunday School each week and are taught from the Bible at least twice a week.
Indonesia is a predominately Muslim country in Southeast Asia. Many work as farmers, but due to the uncertain climate it’s difficult for them to maintain their crops. Other common occupations include construction workers, freelancers, and house cleaners. Many of the families are poor and do not have the funds to pay for medical treatment. Multiple families have to live together in the same house a lot of the time. Many parents lack a formal education and get married young. Domestic violence is also prominent and husbands are prone to leave their families.
