Jose David is a little boy in Guatemala. He has one brother, and the two of them live with their maternal grandmother in a rural village. Jose David’s parents separated and both have remarried; neither wanted the responsibility of the children. Jose David’s grandmother works hard cleaning houses to support the boys, but her income is very low and not enough to pay Jose David’s school fees or provide other necessities. Jose David likes to color and says that he would like to become a police officer one day. By sponsoring Jose, you can help provide him with nutritious food, a good education, medical care, and a safe place to play. Most importantly, Jose will be taught about his loving heavenly father who will never leave him. Thank you for impacting Jose’s life for Christ!
Matochos Child Development Center
The Matochos Child Development Center shows God’s love to children in need. The center partners with a local church through an evangelical partner made up of church leaders. For five days a week, children eat delicious meals cooked by the center staff. In addition to receiving an education, children are taught from the Word of God. Every afternoon a devotion is given and two times a week Bible classes are taught to the children.
Guatemala is the most populated country in Central America. The majority religion is Christianity and is primarily Roman Catholic. Families in Guatemala suffer from many difficult circumstances such as drug use, alcoholism, physical violence, broken homes, and malnourishment. Often children are forced to begin working at an early age. Many families are extremely poor, live in small dilapidated homes and don’t make enough to provide for their physical needs.
