Katerin has an engaging personality. Her father passed away two years ago. Her grandfather works hard to support the family, but his income is not enough to meet their needs. Katerin’s mother stays home to care for her daughter. They live in the grandparents house, which is made of adobe walls, tin roofing and a dirt floor. There are nine people living in the house. Meals are cooked using firewood. Katerin’s house is a ten minute walk from the childcare center. Thank you for choosing to offer this young girl hope for the future and for touching her life for Christ. At the childcare center, she will receive nutritious food and a good education. She will learn God’s Word taught by a loving staff. May the Lord bless you for your kindness.
Matochos Child Development Center
The Matochos Child Development Center shows God’s love to children in need. The center partners with a local church through an evangelical partner made up of church leaders. For five days a week, children eat delicious meals cooked by the center staff. In addition to receiving an education, children are taught from the Word of God. Every afternoon a devotion is given and two times a week Bible classes are taught to the children.
Guatemala is the most populated country in Central America. The majority religion is Christianity and is primarily Roman Catholic. Families in Guatemala suffer from many difficult circumstances such as drug use, alcoholism, physical violence, broken homes, and malnourishment. Often children are forced to begin working at an early age. Many families are extremely poor, live in small dilapidated homes and don’t make enough to provide for their physical needs.
