Imagine four people living in a one room house on a dirt hill in northeast Lima, Peru. Xiomara doesn’t have to image, as this is her life. She is a brilliant young girl who loves drawing and enjoys her religion class in school. Her father works hard to provide for the family, but finds himself chasing temporary jobs to do so. Xiomara’s mother works at home caring for her and her sister. Xiomara would love to benefit from the Bible training that she would receive at the AMG childcare center, along with the other educational help and meals she would receive. Someday, Xiomara would love to be a police officer. She would love your help to see how God could use her to serve Him.

Peru is a culturally diverse country in South America. The majority of the population profess to be Christian, with the majority being Roman Catholic. Terrorism and social violence can be common in certain areas. Generally speaking, there is a lack of stable jobs and it is often difficult to find consistent work. Many fathers abandon their families, leaving them in challenging circumstances. Alcoholism, drug use, and gang violence are also prevalent in many communities.
