Yonathan is a young boy living in a rural part of the country. He lives with his parents and sisters in a small home. His parents both work in the fields during planting and harvest season. Yonathan has hearing problems and has had surgery to try and improve his hearing. Despite facing financial hardships and struggling to hear, Yonathan loves attending school. His favorite subject is math. He hopes to attend college one day for agronomy. Your sponsorship of Yonathan would mean so much to him and his family.

Filadelfia Child Development Center

The Filadelfia Child Development Center is an evangelical school that provides hope for children in the community. The center is part of the Centro American Evangelical Church. Everyday children receive a quality Christian education and nutritious meals. Throughout the week, children also hear solid Bible teaching and devotions led by the staff. The church also hosts events such as multiple holiday celebrations throughout the year in order to reach families for Christ.

Guatemala is the most populated country in Central America. The majority religion is Christianity and is primarily Roman Catholic. Families in Guatemala suffer from many difficult circumstances such as drug use, alcoholism, physical violence, broken homes, and malnourishment. Often children are forced to begin working at an early age. Many families are extremely poor, live in small dilapidated homes and don’t make enough to provide for their physical needs.
