Banlat Kiddie Center

The Banlat Kiddie Center is located on the edge of Manila, Philippines. The area is known for having very low-income families, whose homes are usually built from scraps of cardboard, tin, and lumber. It is extremely difficult to find a steady job in this area, which often forces women to work in factories nearby. Men have part-time jobs as drivers and some have full-time jobs at machine shops. The distribution and abuse of drugs are rampant throughout the city, while prostitution is often encouraged to help meet financial needs. The Banlat Kiddie Center gives these children a hope to cling to as they provide the food, clothing, medical assistance, education, and spiritual training necessary to a healthy life. The staff members are sharing the Gospel in hope that the children will bring the message to their parents and then to the community. The staff members realize the challenge set before them, but face it with confidence, knowing that the Lord will provide them with what they need to make a difference for Christ.
