Masajja Child Development Center

The Masajja Child Development Center is located about ten miles from the city of Kampala, Uganda’s capital. The village consists of makeshift houses and shanties where single women and the elderly are often the heads of households. They live off of small gardens and generally only have enough food for one meal a day. Their lack of education has a drastic effect on the opportunity for jobs. Many children have lost their parents due to the spreading AIDS epidemic, leaving them to fend for themselves. AMG Uganda started the Masajja Childcare Center in a place that was formerly used for ancestral worship. The center has been a crucial factor in brining spiritual transformation to the community. The children learn a curriculum that consists of reading, writing, math, and the Bible. Each Saturday, children memorize Scripture, hear Bible lessons, eat meals, and play games together. Every weekday parents and their children come to the center for spiritual guidance and support. Many are making decisions to follow Christ and be the instruments of His love to the world. Special project opportunity: There are many supplies needed and used to carry out daily ministry work in any AMG Child Development Center. Please click the Special Projects tab above to see how you can make a difference by helping provide the needed supplies and equipment to assist the Masajja staff in carrying out their mission. NOTE: Partial gifts toward any projects are greatly appreciated.
