Sragen Child Development Center

Sragen Child Development Center in Central Java is a small densely populated village. Most families work selling vegetables or meat, drive in the public transport system, or trade goods at the market. Education is very important in Indonesia and parents do not often buy nutritious foods in order to send their children to school. As a result, children are often malnourished and unable to do well in school. This center was started by the Indonesian Bible Church. One faithful woman in the church began a program for children and called it Joyful Wednesday. It grew quickly, and AMG decided to partner with this ministry. Now sponsored children receive help paying for their school supplies and fees, receive meals, and are encouraged daily by the loving Christian staff. At the childcare center the children learn of Christ’s love for them and how to have a personal relationship with Christ.
